Thursday February 7, 2013 / 8:15am - 4:30pm  **THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT**

Join editorial photographer Wyatt McSpadden for a road trip and workshop in the BBQ capital of the world, Lockhart Texas.  This will be an exercise in seeing- and how to portray that to bring home a great story.  You will have the chance to photograph hands on and also work with Wyatt capturing: spaces- interior/exterior, portraits, food, and details.  All of these elements make a great editorial story.  Wyatt will also show you how he approaches portraits using different lighting situations, pre-lighting before the subject arrives, working fast, and getting great images. This is also a great one to sign up for because you will get to eat some of the best BBQ in Texas at Black’s, Smitty’s, and Kreuz Market!

Also included: a copy of Wyatt’s book, Texas BBQ and the chance to get it autographed, transportation, food, and The Q Card!  This event is limited to 10 people.  We will meet in Austin at 8:15 a.m. and return around 4:40 pm.

Wyatt McSpadden’s portraits of governors, golfers, musicians, millionaires, and more have appeared in scores of publications nationwide, most notably in Texas Monthly, where he is a contributing photographer.  For over twenty years, Wyatt has documented Texas BBQ, spanning hundreds of miles across the lone star state to capture the culture and tradition of Texas BBQ.  You might be familiar with Wyatt’s book, Texas BBQ.
